"I am thankful for a lawn that needs mowing, windows that need cleaning and gutters that need fixing because it means I have a home.... I am thankful for the piles of laundry and ironing because it means my loved ones are nearby." ~Nancie J. Carmody
I came across this quote this morning, and thought this is so true! How often do I complain about the fact that the laundry is never ending? Or every time I think I have ALL the dishes done, someone is hungry? The grass seems to grow right before your very eyes, but yes, I do have a home, and I'm so very thankful for it. But I'm really thankful that I'm not usually the one who has to mow it. It takes a long time to mow and weed eat 2 1/2 acres. I'm going to try to remember this quote next time I want to moan about the fact that there seems to be so much to do. My loved ones are nearby and I wouldn't have it any other way.

EXCELLENT post Carrie!
so very true and thought provoking!
as an empty-nester...I MISS those piles of children's laundry...the exclaims of "Oooh, you baked cookies today! yummy"... and the hugs of warmth that say I love you...EVERY DAY!
it's true also..
HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS
and with your heart manifest here..God will surely bless your desires and contentment!
Hugs..
Oh and TIME for a new family PORTRAIT!
I love that quote! Very good reminder! I'm so enjoying just being a stay-at-home mom again and doing the things I love best, taking care of my home and family! What a blessing to have a home and family to take care! Great post girlfriend! XO
